I’ll be the first one to admit that I am one of the nosiest people that I know. People talking? I’m eavesdropping. Sirens out the window? I’m watching. I actually broke a window in our apartment hanging out the window spying on the firefighters outside of our apartment building. And yes, I was caught. This was also just a few weeks ago.
As someone that pretty much has the same makeup routine, no matter what I’m doing, I have this weird obsession with wanting to know what’s in other people’s makeup bags so I thought it would be fun to share what’s in mine!
What’s In My Makeup Bag
I only have a few makeup brushes in my arsenal – they’re expensive and I don’t have the space to have one brush per product. I’ve been loving this eye brush set and the leather pouch that comes with it for easy storage. For liquid makeup, I use a beautyblender (I just got the *real* beautyblender but actually prefer these ones from Target!). For blush/bronzer/highlighter, I use this brush and for setting powder, I use this one.
I don’t typically purchase palettes because let’s be honest – how often do you actually use all of the colors? I did cave and purchase this eyeshadow palette a few months ago and have gotten a lot of use out of it and have used almost every color. I also picked up this contour duo during the Sephora sale after I saw a few people rave about it on Instagram and let me tell you, it lives up to expectations.
Brow Products & Mascara
I borderline refuse to leave the house without my eyebrows filled in and wouldn’t be anywhere without Benefit’s Goof Proof Brow Pencil! I use color 1 – cool light blonde. For mascara, I’m a huge fan of better than sex and lash paradise, but recently switched to Ilia’s Limitless Lash Mascara and guys — I’m never going back. It’s SO good.
CC Cream, Concealer & Setting Powder
I’ve been using the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream for years and honestly don’t think I’ll ever get off the train. It works well for my skin and lasts all day. I set it using this setting powder, which is translucent with a slight shimmer and lasts forever. After trying the Ilia mascara and finishing my current concealer, I opted to try the Ilia Skin Serum Concealer and love how long-lasting it is without getting caked or creased.
Bronzer, Blush & Highlighter
The GOODS – amiright? If I’m not using the Charlotte Tilbury contour duo, I use this bronzer, this blush, and this highlighter. You can’t go wrong with any of them and they’re all buildable for the perfect glow.
When it comes to lipstick, I love a good matte berry color and I pretty much wear all of my lippies equally, but the NARS matte lipstick in bad girl is my favorite for everyday wear.
I am all for a softshell makeup bag, they’re easier to travel with and throw in your purse IMO. I recently replaced my beloved Dagne Dover toiletry bag with the Everlane Catch-All Case and I am in love with the storage options inside and the color.
