I have an obsession. I’m addicted to cheese.
Okay, not really, but I really, really love it. Who doesn’t? (I apologize in advance if you’re lactose intolerant)
Cheeseboards are my freakin’ jam and I make one whenever I have the opportunity. Holidays, birthdays, dinner… I’ll use any and every excuse to make a cheese board and eat it all but let’s face it: making a cheese board is expensive. Thanks to Trader Joe’s, it’s easier than ever to make a cheese board (big or small!) that is delicious and impresses your guests on a budget.
The Best Cheeses from Trader Joe’s
* Havarti Cheese – Smooth and creamy, Havarti has a butter-like texture to it and is honestly one of my favorite cheeses. It pairs well with several accouterments and it tends to be a fan-favorite, especially among those that aren’t big into cheese.
*Jalapeño Pepper Jack Cheese – This semi-soft cheese has a rich, robust flavor with medium heat that gives you the opportunity to spice up any cheeseboard.
*Goat Milk Brie – Mild with herbal notes, the goat milk brie is the ideal option for those that are between a classic brie and a goat cheese. Pair with crackers and a flavor-filled jam and taste the explosion of flavors in your mouth.
Blueberry Vanilla Chevre Log – A mix between tangy and fruity, the blueberry vanilla chevre log is creamy and smooth and pairs well with crackers, bread, and salads.
*Cave Aged Blue Cheese – This blue cheese is made from raw milk, is extremely creamy, and has both fruity grape and fresh fig notes.
Syrah-Soaked Toscano – A hard cow cheese soaked in Syrah? Sign me up! With the bite of parmesan and creaminess of cheddar, your guests won’t be able to say no to this cheese.
1,000 Day Gouda Cheese – With a mild, nutty flavor and milky texture, the 1,000 Day Gouda is irresistible and not only makes the ideal cheese for a board but is delicious in grilled cheese form.
Manchego Anejo – Love a good manchego? The Manchego Anejo from Trader Joe’s is aged for 12 months and has a smooth tangy taste with some funky flavors.
*Cheddar Cheese with Caramelized Onions – This cheese is a hit any time I include it in any of my cheese boards, yet I still haven’t learned to include more than one block on each board. The cheese is mild but the caramelized onions give it a savory-sweet flavor that makes it irresistible.
Crottin Goat Cheese Sampler – I love a cheese sampler, especially when it’s goat cheese! Get the best of each flavor and pair it with crackers, olives, and various meats.
Triple Creme Brie Cheese – Love brie? This one is so creamy it literally melts in your mouth.
Asiago Cheese with Rosemary & Olive Oil – Asiago cheese is a classic! The hard cheese has a nutty and salty flavor to it and the crust of rosemary and olive oil allows it to pair perfectly with wheat crackers and prosciutto.
*Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese – Everyone loves a classic extra sharp cheddar cheese! Hard and full of flavor, this cheese can be paired with almost anything and is a crowd-pleaser.
*Notes cheeses I use most commonly on cheese boards
