I am embarrassed to admit that we are now five months into living in our new apartment and are just getting around to hanging anything on the walls.

YUP, you read that right.

We were so focused on all of the other parts of moving; buying furniture, painting, getting settled, that the walls just fell to the back burner. But alas, our Jan Skácelík piece has finally been hung and I’m obsessed!!

Our Thought Process

Both Chris and I have very similar tastes in home decor (thank god!) and knew we wanted a mid-century modern feel with classic pieces mixed in. With our small space, light colors are our friend and we wanted to take advance of the space we do have.

With that being said, we don’t have a lot of wall space (especially in the living room – HELLLLOO WINDOWS!) so whatever we did hang had to be pieces we loved.

The Poster Club

Made up of a collection of art prints by different artists, photographers, and designers, The Poster Club is your destination for Scandinavian-inspired artwork and frames.

TPC had exactly what we were looking for for our home, but with so many pieces to pick from, it was hard to make a final decision.

In the end, we went with Jan Skácelík’s Shapescape 008 in the 50×70 cm size, and paired it with this gorgeous frame!

Things to Keep in Mind When Ordering from TPC

Ordering from The Poster Club was very easy, but keep in mind that they are located in Denmark so not only is there a conversion rate for payment, but you will have to pay a little more for shipping and wait longer for your piece to arrive. With that being said, I promise, it’s worth it!

A few other things to consider —

  • Art is in European sizes, making it hart to order a piece and find a frame here in the U.S. (yes, even with custom framing, which is also $$$); If you like the frames they offer at TPC, I recommend biting the bullet and purchasing a frame through them!
  • The average time frame for a piece of art to be shipped from Denmark to the U.S. is two weeks. If you need art on your walls ASAP, keep in mind that TPC is not Amazon!

The Framing Process

After looking high and low for a frame here in the U.S. and not being able to find one, I decided to purchase a frame straight through TPC. The frame is worth the money, I promise!! High-quality and a beautiful color, it was easy to frame our print and get it hung on the wall.

Girl I don’t blame you one bit! We’re 6 months in and still have nothing on the walls in the kitchen or in the living room/entryway. Just hung the first piece in our bedroom haha. Really only the hallway and guest room have things on the walls. Definitely takes time as it’s such a commitment once you hang something. There’s at least one hole – usually two or three or four haha.
