The Podcasts I'm Loving Right Now

There are three types of people in this world: people who don’t listen to podcasts, people who listen to podcasts regularly, and people who want to listen to podcasts regularly. Back when I worked your typical 9-5, I had a commute into the office and usually utilized this time to read a book, get caught up on emails, or get work done for the blog before sitting at the office all day but towards the end of my corporate “career,” I started to get into podcasts during this time. Now that I work from home, I don’t listen to podcasts nearly enough but I’ve slowly been getting back into the habit. If you’ve been wanting to start listening to podcasts more regularly but aren’t sure where to start or just want to listen to one that’s actually that good without having to do too much research, I’m here to help!

Archetypes

I could truly listen to Meghan Markle speak all day long. Her voice is so soothing and comforting and when she launched her podcast, Archetypes, back in August 2022 I knew it would be a podcast that would be in my regular rotation. From the topics covered to the guests on each episode, you won’t be able to stop listening to the magic that is Archetypes.

Find Your Weekend

Founded by my client-turned-friend, Hannah, Find Your Weekend is basically listening to your BFF in your ears, each and every single episode. Hannah’s goal with the podcast is to help you discover your “why” by sharing her own stories and things she’s discovered from starting her own biz and leaving her corporate 9-5.

The Creative Edition

Formerly known as the Content Creative Podcast, The Creative Edition is hosted by Emma of Emma’s Edition. In this podcast, Emma shares influencer tips, lessons she’s learned navigating the influencer world, and the tools and strategies you need to execute content creation. I love that she also invites guests onto the podcast, some outside of the content creation space to bring in outside perspectives on the creator economy. If you’re a current content creator or thinking about starting in the industry, The Creative Edition is a must-listen!

The Michelle Obama Podcast

There is something about Michelle Obama I absolutely love and when I found out she was starting a podcast, I couldn’t contain my excitement. Launched in 2020, this one-season podcast has been around for a while now but is still one of my favorites and is one I go back to often. In The Michelle Obama Podcast, the former First Lady dives into conversations with family, friends, and colleagues to talk more about the relationships in our lives that make us who we are. Also, listening to her speak is so soothing!

Negronis with Nord

Founded by Fohr CEO, James Nord, his Negronis with Nord series is now an audio footprint! This podcast is such a great resource for influencers to learn more about influencer marketing strategy, tips, and advice. Each episode is very digestible and the topics are so helpful, even if you aren’t in the influencer space (I’m looking at you marketing professionals!).

The Daily

If you aren’t listening to The Daily, you must add it to your everyday routine. Each day at 6 AM (Monday-Friday), journalists Michael Barbara and Sabrina Tavernise host the daily episode of The Daily covering the biggest news stories of our time. If you’re someone that gets overwhelmed by watching/reading the news, I truly cannot recommend this podcast enough for keeping up with what’s going on in the world. Plus, each episode is so easy to digest!

WorkParty

If you love Create & Cultivate and the empire that Jaclyn Johnson has created for women, add this podcast to your list ASAP. Founded and hosted by C&C’s founder, Jaclyn Johnson, WorkParty is all about redefining the meaning of work on your own terms and is a space where entrepreneurial women celebrate each other. Plus, you’ll learn a tip or two (okay a million tips!) along the way.

The Everygirl Podcast

This is the newest podcast in my rotation and honestly, I have no idea what took me so long to listen to it! I’m an avid reader of The Everygirl so it’s no surprise that The Everygirl Podcast is a new favorite of mine. Through the podcast, hosts Josie and Alaina share a mix of career interviews with leading experts, quick how-to episodes that will leave you a little matter than when you started listening, and unfiltered girl-talk happy hour (plus everything in between). You won’t be able to stop listening!

How to Make Time to Listen to Podcasts

The trick to listening to podcasts more often? Opt to listen to a podcast when you’re going for a walk, folding laundry, while you work out, or even while you work instead of listening to your go-to playlist. If you’re someone that can’t focus on work when you listen to podcasts or TV, keep the podcast listening for those lower stake tasks. You’ll be surprised how much listening time you’ll be able to squeeze into your day!
