The Easiest Travel Outfit

I will never understand how people dress to the nines while traveling.

Okay, so there was one time I wore my espadrilles wedges to the airport because they wouldn’t fit in my suitcase and I really wanted to wear them. But let’s be honest: this pair is comfy AF so it’s okay. Other than that one time, comfort is always key when I’m traveling, whether it’s by car, plane, or train. When I headed down to Atlanta for The Blog Societies Conference last month, I knew I wanted to wear something casual and comfy but also put together. Despite the heat, I knew I wanted to wear jeans and a tee. Both are comfy and easy to elevate with a fun pair of shoes or statement bag.

I’ve been all about American Eagle jeans as of late. They’re stretchy, the material is soft, and they’re super adorable. The only downside is that the darker washes do bleed, so I have to be extra careful about what I’m washing them with or what’s rubbing up against them (I can’t tell you how many jackets and bags I have that they’ve bled on *cries*). I know this should deter me from buying them but with most pairs under $50, I don’t feel guilty about them being ruined or having to throw them away. Plus, they’re awesome for work. I normally wear the high-rise skinny jeans, but recently tried on this pair and they’re my new faves. I’ve been trying to get out of my skinny jean comfort zone and the straight leg on them does just that. I’ve actually found myself reaching for them more than other pairs I own. The denim is also extremely comfy so win-win.

My other obsession: this weekender. I’ve had my eye on it for a while. After investing in an Away suitcase this past winter, I figured it was time to get a duffle that was more “grown-up” and that also matched my suitcase when I was carrying them both together. Even though I’ve only had the weekender for a couple of weeks, I can’t believe I went so long without it. It fits so much in it and the long strap makes it easy to carry. I highly recommend it.

I am totally with you – I literally wear leggings and one of my old sorority t shirts. People who wear heels to travel on planes are crazzzyyy!

Great tips! I agree, nothing is more important than traveling comfy, ’cause trips can be pretty exhausting. Jeans are my number 1 selection!

I am a jeans/tee type of girl too when I travel anywhere. I need to be comfortable, especially for flying because you’re sitting in one spot for a few hours. No one wants to be wearing uncomfortable clothes.
