The Best Patios in Boston

The Best Patios in Boston

One of my favorite things to do in Boston is going out to eat. With so many restaurants, types of cuisines, and neighborhoods to explore, there’s always a new-to-you restaurant to discover. One of my least favorite things? The limited number of patios! Once patio season rolls around, the last thing I want to do is to be stuck inside and enjoying a nice meal (or a cocktail!) out on a patio feels so good. Thankfully, over the last few years, the city has really stepped it up with the patio situation!

Whether you’re visiting, or live in the area, I’ve rounded up the best patios in Boston to enjoy all summer long!

The Best Patios in Boston

El Centro

Located in the South End, El Centro is one of my favorite (authentic) Mexican restaurants in the area and it has the cutest patio! It even has cute bistro lights once it gets dark out, which I’m a total sucker for.

Stephanie’s On Newbury

Even though I avoid Newbury Street at all costs, Stephanie’s On Newbury has a huge corner patio that’ll make your patio dreams come true. I personally haven’t eaten here yet, but I’ve heard great things and the menu looks delish!

Buttermilk & Bourbon

Located along Comm Ave., Buttermilk & Bourbon has a great view and I love their sunken patio. It’s cozy and intimate but still gets a lot of natural light. You really can’t go wrong with anything on their menu and the cocktails are to die for.

Lolita has two locations: Back Bay (currently closed for renovation) and Fort Point (Seaport). The Fort Point location has a great patio along the water and their food is SO good. Such a perfect spot for after-work cocktails or brunch in the summer. Love all of the margaritas and you can’t go wrong with the queso.

Petit Robert Bistro

Petit Robert’s is one of my favorite restaurants in the city and it has the cutest patio (pictured above!). This bistro is truly a slice of Paris in Boston and is a spot I frequent a little too often. If you visit anywhere on this list, please make it this spot!

Another South End restaurant! Featuring modern Asian dishes, Banyan is absolutely delicious and the patio is huge (and has cute lighting at night – my fave!). Highly recommend making reservations ahead of time, it gets busy fast.

This Mediterranean restaurant is situated next to the Prudential Center and has the cutest patio (the inside is also great!). If you’re looking for a spot that’s not super loud and is off of the street, Porto is a great option. Everything on the menu is delicious, including the cocktails.
