I’ve been obsessed with painting my nails since I got my first manicure in the second grade for my first communion. I boarded line hoarded nail polish in high school and college, rotating through periods of painting my nails crazy colors (neon green, hot pink…..) and going to the nail salon every two weeks to ensure my acrylics had a cool design on them. *puke*

Now older and wiser, my acrylic nail obsession is long gone although I do still loved getting my nails done from time to time. I mean, do you blame me? It’s so relaxing and I love how long a gel manicure lasts. Over time, I’ve dwindled down my own nail polish collection to six colors (plus base and top coats) and even when I get my nails done, I still select one of these six colors unless the nail salon doesn’t have them!

Orosa ‘Rose Quartz’ – Orosa is a line of vegan nail polishes and this blush color is the perfect “barely there” color. I love wearing this color when I don’t necessarily want my nails painted but want a little something there to make them look better!

OPI ‘Koala Beary’ – The perfect medium-tone pink polish, Koala Beary has been one of my favorite nail polish colors for *years* and I love that it doesn’t have too much of a ballerina pink color to it. Plus, it looks amazing on every skin tone!

OPI ‘Color So Hot It Berns’ – A medium red with a hint of orange, Color So Hot It Berns is a fun pop of color for Après ski and the perfect red to wear all summer long.

Essie ‘Forever Yummy’ – I’ve tried a lot of reds in my time and when I’m itching for a true red, this is the one I reach for. It doesn’t have any blue undertones or hints of orange to it, making it the perfect color to wear year-round.

OPI ‘Got The Blues For Red’ – I first started wearing this color only in the winter months but it has quickly become a color that I wear year-round, and even more so than the other colors I own. I love the reddish-purple color that seriously goes with everything.

Note: If the nail salon doesn’t have this color, I usually go with Malaga Wine (OPI).

Essie ‘Bahama Mama’ – Similar to Got The Blues For Red but in the purple family. I love this color for the days I want something moody but fun, without being in the red/pink family.

Note: If the nail salon doesn’t have this color, I usually go with Miami Beet (OPI).

What are your favorite nail polishes to wear year round?

So many beautiful colors! I swear by at-home gel manicures now, so none of them have names, but I’m a sucker for a good nude-pink and a wine shade. I also have this purple-mauve kinda color I adore!

Ahhh these colors are so perfect for spring. I love the red and purple shades because they work so well for all of us. They’re fun and cheerful too! x

I have to have my nails painted at all times. But I do them home myself because I’ve just had horrible experiences at salons. I’ve been loving Smith & Cult nail polishes lately. They have the most decadent packaging

I am OPI obsessed! Definitely think their polishes are the best and last the longest. These red/wine shades are amazing on you! I usually gravitate towards white as soon as spring comes around but lately I’ve been having a lot of fun with designs and ombre.

I wish I had the guts to do a design or ombre! I always stick to a solid color – so boring! I do need to give white polish a try!
