The Best Gift for the Reading Obsessed

gift ideas for book worms

It’s no secret that reading is a big part of my life and after being introduced to Book of the Month a few months ago, my obsession grew even more. Whether you’re a big reader or you have a friend that is reading obsessed, BOTM is such a great gift idea! I mean, who doesn’t love getting books in the mail every month?

How Book of the Month Works

Subscription boxes are a dime a dozen these days but I promise you, Book of the Month is worth it. Sure you can order books on Amazon, but there’s nothing like the excitement around waiting for a package in the mail, am I right or amirite?!

So, how does it work, exactly?

For just $14.99 per month, you get to pick one book from five binge-worthy reads (can you binge a book??) that are vetted very cool people with really great taste. Can’t pick just one? That’s okay, I can’t either! You can add up to two additional books to your box each month for just $9.99 each. All of the books featured on BOTM are hardcovers making it even more worthwhile.

And just when you don’t think it can get any better…..

A lot of the books that you get to pick from each month are books that are early releases AKA you get to read them before everyone else does!

What if I’m not interested in any of the books that are picked or don’t have time to read a book?

So this might be my favorite feature of BOTM. If you don’t like any of the books that are picked for that month, don’t have time to read, or have too man other books on your list, you can choose to skip a month and you won’t be charged!

Why I Love BOTM

There are so many different ways to get access to books in an “a la carte” manner these days so why would I choose BOTM over the instant gratification of heading to my local book store, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble? There is so much excitement around finding out what the picks of the month are and figuring out which book is the perfect one for you.

How Do I Gift BOTM?

Book of the Month is hands down the best last-minute gift, especially for your reading obsessed friends. When gifting BOTM, you can pick from a 3, 6, or 12-month subscription, ranging between $50 and $150. For the delivery method for your gift, you can get your BOTM subscription via email, print at home, or a gift card (via mail). Then all you need to do is fill out all of the information and your subscription is on its way!

I gave my mom a 6-month BOTM subscription for her birthday in October and she freakin’ loves it. It’s so much fun to pick out books together each month so we can swap them back and forth and she loves having something to look forward to in the mail.

Perks for BOTM Members

Let’s talk BOTM member perks.

There are some fun perks for Book fo the Month members, and I’m not just saying that because I love BOTM. Here are some of the perks you can expect:

  • After 12 months (aka 12 books), you’ll get a cute reusable tote that has a special pocket for your book.
  • During your birthday month, you get a free add-on book. Hollllaaaaaa!
  • Each winter, there are five Book of the Month Finalists, and you get to pick the one you want for free.

Have you tried BOTM yet?

BOTM is seriously the best! The low cost is obviously wonderful, but it’s great getting your hands on books that are brand new or haven’t been released yet!

The library is awesome! I love that a lot of libraries now have virtual cards for audiobooks and ebooks through their apps!
