I’ve always loved Sunday mornings and use them as my time to reset for the upcoming week. For me, Sundays should be the perfect balance of relaxing and being just productive enough to feel prepared for the week ahead. I’m not trying to cram everything into one day or start the week exhausted. Instead, I like having a simple Sunday routine that helps create mental space before Monday rolls around.
Over time, I’ve noticed how much of a difference these small resets make. When I take a little time on Sunday, the rest of the week feels calmer and more manageable. Even simple rituals help ease the Sunday scaries and make the transition into the week feel smoother. This reset isn’t about doing everything perfectly, it’s about choosing what feels supportive and letting Sundays work for you.

What is a Sunday Reset?
A Sunday reset is a gentle way to prepare for the upcoming week without turning your weekend into another long to-do list. It’s about slowing down, clearing space, and giving yourself room to breathe so Monday does not feel so abrupt. When done simply, it can help reduce stress and keep the rest of the week from feeling overwhelming.
Some Sundays you may have energy to do more, and other Sundays you may only tackle one or two small things. Both are enough! The goal is not perfection, but creating routines that support you and give you more mental space going into the week.
Simple Sunday Reset Rituals
Quick Clean Up
I like to start my reset with a good Sunday cleaning session focused on the spaces that get chaotic the fastest, which is usually my bedroom, bathroom, and office. This is not about deep cleaning or tackling everything at once. I will put away any clean clothes and throw whatever is dirty in the laundry, straighten up any surfaces, and do a quick vacuum.
Wash Your Bedding
Clean sheets on a Sunday night is one of my favorite things. There is something so comforting about starting the week with fresh bedding. I usually throw in bath towels and hand towels as well, just to cover all of my bases for the week ahead. If you have sensitive skin, or don’t love overly scented detergent, this laundry detergent has been a favorite!
Wash Makeup Brushes
I am the worst at remembering to wash my makeup brushes regularly. Switching my wash day to Sunday has helped me actually remember to clean them and it’s a small, satisfying task to complete no matter what I have planned for the day. This is my favorite brush cleaner – it’s gentle, can be used on brushes and sponges, and leaves my brushes looking brand new. I also use this brush cleaner pad to really work the cleaner into the brush bristles and get all the gunk out.
Get Organized for the Week
Once things feel a little tidier, I will spend a few minutes getting organized for the upcoming week. I check my calendar, review commitments, and write down any important to-dos that I want to focus on so that my Monday morning doesn’t feel so overwhelming.

Everything Shower & Full Skincare Routine
An everything shower is one of my favorite ways to end the weekend. I take my time, use products I love, and follow it up with my full skincare routine. This helps me wind down after the weekend and feel refreshed and reset before the week begins.
Everything Shower & Skincare Favorites:
Prep Simple Meals or Snacks
Meal prepping does not need to bee complicated to be helpful! Focus on a few simple things like prepping snacks, planning out a meal or two, or even cooking a few key ingredients – my go-to is cooking bacon to have with breakfasts throughout the week so I don’t have to worry about cooking it on a work day. Doing grocery shopping on Sundays is also a game changer so you don’t have to worry about stopping at the store during the week.
Digital Reset
A digital reset is the most underrated part of my Sunday routine. I clear out my emails and organize my calendar, which is one less thing I’ll have to worry about on Monday mornings. Once I’m prepped for the week, I’ll put my devices away and either read or work on a quilting project for the rest of the evening.
Wind Down Early
I am a sucker for an early evening on Sundays. Between the clean sheets, everything shower, and being prepped for the week ahead, I’m always so much more relaxed and look forward to climbing into bed. Bonus points for dimmed lighting and a lighting a favorite candle.
A Sunday reset doesn’t need to be complicated to be effective! Even choosing one or two of these rituals can make a noticeable difference in how the rest of the week feels. The best Sunday routine is the one that fits your life – start small, listen to what you need, and let the day be a space to reset without pressure.
