Spring is here which means one thing – the 2022 wedding season is in full swing! After a heavy 2021 wedding season, I’m so happy to have a break this year but a little part of me is bummed – finding the *perfect* wedding guest dress is one of the best parts of going to a wedding (other than the obvious!). There are so many gorgeous dresses this season and if you have an upcoming wedding, I’ve got you covered.
Spring wedding themes can truly go any way and the dress code could be anything from garden or casual, to cocktail and black tie so it’s important to keep in mind what type of dress you’re looking for. I truly believe you can never go wrong with a great midi dress, especially if you’re unsure of the dress code. Something with good flow, they fits well in all the right places, and styled with a great pair of shoes and bag.
What to Wear to a Spring Wedding
Black Tie & Formal Weddings
For black tie and formal weddings, the rule of thumb is to wear a floor length gown or an elegant pant suit. This dress code can be really fun but also overwhelming, especially when trying to incorporate lighter fabrics and patterns for the spring season.
Not as formal as black tie, cocktail attire is one of the most common dress codes for weddings. Instead of a floor length gown, opt for a midi, mini, or knee-length dress and don’t be afraid to let you personality shine through fun accessories and shoes.
Most tropical and destination weddings will be hot, with tropical weather and you’ll want to dress comfortably but still polished. This is the perfect time to incorporate bold colors! For shoes, consider the location of the wedding. Wedges are always an easy option!
When I think of a garden wedding, I immediately think of pastels, florals, and feminine details. Garden weddings typically take place during the day so this is an opportunity to wear lighter colors, fabrics, and prints. Think casual, but elevated!
Wedding Guest Dresses Under $150
Let’s face it: attending a wedding can be expensive and when you have multiple in one year, buying a $300 dress for each is probably not in the budget. But not to worry, there are so many great options under $150, no matter what the dress code is.
