Sézane Size Guide

Sézane Size Guide

The French label, Sézane, has become synonymous with Parisian style over the last 10 years. With stunning silhouettes, luscious fabrics, and beautiful neutral tones (with pops of color here and there!), the French brand has become a favorite of mine over the last couple of years. Every piece Sézane releases is better than the next and my collection has been growing quite rapidly. I just can’t seem to say no! Since it is a French brand though, sizing can be tricky, especially when you first start adding their pieces to your wardrobe. To make it easier to shop the brand, I’m sharing a full Sézane size guide.

An Introduction to Sézane

Founded in 2013 by Morgan’s Sézalory, Sézane is a sustainable brand that is committed to high quality clothing, shoes, and accessories that you’ll have for years. Over the last 10 years, Sézane has also supported countless charities and various communities. If you’re looking for a brand that makes your every day feel a little more elevated, while doing good, you’ll love Sézane.

How Does Sézane Sizing Run?

Sézane is a French brand, which I find to run smaller than American brands. For the most part, I size up in but they do have a handful of items that run larger, in which I take my regular size.

Every product on the Sézane website also includes a size guide which includes a link to their size chart (below) and a note on how the piece runs and whether you should size up or down if you’re in between. To avoid having to constantly exchange pieces, I can’t recommend ordering different sizes or taking an accurate measurement enough.

Sezane Size Guide

My Usual Sizing

usually wear a size 8/M in clothing but in Sézane, I’m typically a 10 or a large. There are a few exceptions to this, though! When it comes to sweaters and the Conrad Tee, I wear my true size.

I cannot recommend purchasing a soft tape measure enough! Ever since I got one and learned what my measurements are, it makes ordering clothing online so much easier. I now only return clothing because I don’t like the style versus wrong sizing!

Where to Shop Sézane

In addition to shopping online on their website, you can also shop Sézane at one of their locations in Paris, London, NYC, and Los Angeles. Depending on the location and time of day, you might have to wait a few minutes to check out or try things on in the fitting room!

If you’re shopping online, keep purchases below $200 and $800 to save on shipping costs and avoid customs fees.

My Favorite Pieces from Sézane

Sézane has so many incredible pieces, making it hard to pick favorites. Truly every piece they launch is better than the next! I’ve slowly been building my Sézane collection and these have been my favorite and most worn pieces.

Emilie Cardigan

My inaugural Sézane piece, the Emilie Cardigan is thick and cozy, exactly how a winter sweater should be. Like most of Sézane’s sweaters, this one does run large but I went with my regular size (medium) so I could layer it over t-shirts and button-ups and while also achieving that perfectly oversized look when wearing it by itself.

The Emilie Cardigan is on the chunkier side, so keep that in mind as well when deciding on what size to order!

Martin Trousers

If you’re in the market for a great pair of trousers, these ones from Sézane are the best! They are a wool blend (70% wool, 30% Polyamide) trouser with a straight wide-leg silhouette, perfect for cooler temperatures.

The Martin Trousers are also great for travel. Since they are 70% wool, they don’t wrinkle easily.

Gaspard Cardigan

The Gaspard Cardigan is a Sézane staple and for good reason. It’s cozy, comes in a bunch of colors, and can be worn with the buttons in the front or back! It does run a little big so if you’re in between sizes, I would size down. I have this cardigan in light beige and wear a size medium (my true size). I could easily do a small for a more fitted look!

Conrad T-Shirt

I recently ordered the Conrad T-Shirt on a whim and can’t believe I haven’t purchased one sooner. It’s the perfect weight, is 100% organic cotton (super breathable!), and is great for layering. I wear my regular size in this (medium) and comes in several colors. I have it in black but I need to order it in white and navy next!

Wilson Cardigan

This cotton blend cardigan (shown above) is one of my favorite, and most worn, pieces from Sézane. It’s perfectly oversized, is on the heavier side without being bulky, and is a great foundation piece in any wardrobe. I’ve been wearing this with jeans while working from home, but I also love it paired with these black trousers (also from Sézane!) and my Sambas for an easy but chic outfit for drinks with friends. It also comes in a natural/navy stripe, which would be so cute for spring/summer!

Maxence Jumper

Compared to other sweaters from Sézane, I find the Maxence Jumper to run small. I had originally ordered a medium (my typical size in their sweaters) and it was much too fitted in the chest and too cropped. I ended up exchanging it for a large, which I was worried would be too big in the arms but I love the fit. I typically wear it untucked, but it’s definitely long enough to do a little front/side tuck into a pair of high-waisted bottoms.

Lazare Trousers

I am all about a comfy, soft pant and these ones from Sézane are in constant rotation. Plus, they match with the Maxence Jumper, making for a chic matching set that can be worn fall through spring. I do find that these knit pants run on the smaller side so I size up to a large. They fit perfectly! Loose in the legs but fitted in the waist. I love the sandstone color, too.

Amiel Jumper

The Amiel Jumper is one of my favorite sweaters from Sézane. It’s cozy, it’s soft, and it comes in the most gorgeous colors. I have the ice blue color, which you can see in this Reel, but I am eyeing the red and hope it comes back in stock! The fit is on the loser side, too. I would even go as far as perfectly oversized but if you want a more oversized look, size up. I went with my true size for a looser, but not too oversized, fit.
