Trying new beauty products is my absolute jam. From makeup and skin care to hair products and other miscellaneous products. It does suck when you do spend money on these products and don’t end up liking them, but that’s why we have friends, right? To give them our unwanted beauty products? I do try to read reviews from other bloggers, beauty connoisseur, and product reviewers alike to get an idea of a product, how it will work with my skin type, and whether or not it’s worth the money before making a purchase to (fingers cross) not waste money.

Before getting into this review, I figured I’d chat about my skin type real quick and let you know how this post will be set up! I have combination skin, it gets oily when I’m stressed, and I am terribly acne prone. I am very cautious about the products I try in order to avoid breakouts as best as possible.

As per the set up of this post: I will be going through and reviewing each product, along with whether I think it’s worth purchasing it or not. At the very end of the post, you can get all the details about the products so you can shop them, along with the shade/color I picked the product up in!

CARGO POWDER BLUSH – A new to me brand, Cargo’s powder blushes come in four gorgeous shades and come in at $26 a tin. I have been switching between a few powder blushes as of late, but I am loving the sun-kissed look all of the Cargo give and how long lasting they are.

Is it worth the money? Yes!

NUDESTIX LIP + CHEEK PENCIL – While I am a huge fan of dual purpose beauty products, I strictly use this one on my lips. What can I say? I’m a powder blush type of gal. This product is creamy and applies *so* smooth, isn’t drying, and the colors are amazing! NUDESTIX also has strictly lip pencils, if you’re not into the lip/cheek duo. I’m loving this nude color for early fall and day-to-day wear. The hint of mauve in it adds the perfect amount of color.

Is it worth the money? Yes!

KRISTIN ESS TEXTURE SPRAY – Oh Kristin Ess, I love you. No, but seriously. I had been using Drybar’s Triple Sec (which I love) but since I’ve had such great luck with Kristin Ess Hair in the past, I was extremely interested in trying her texture spray. At a whopping $14, this product (& the rest of the KEH line) is the holy grail of Target products. The product gives you enough texture to achieve any hair style you want, but it still allows your hair to move and have natural flow.

Is it worth the money? Yes!

MARIO BADESCU SILVER POWDER – Where are all my Mario lovers at?! I have no idea how I went so long without this product but I’m sure glad I decided to give it a try after my girl Sally was *raving* about it. If you feel like your face is being taken over by blackheads, this product is for you.

To use it, you’ll lightly dampen a cotton ball, dip it into the powder and apply it to your T zone. Leave it on for 10 minutes and remove with your favorite toner. Using this 1-2 times a week will help pull out excess oils for healthier looking skin.

KRISTIN ESS WORKING SERUM – Here’s my girl Kristin again….. I have been using the same finishing serum for YEARS. I absolutely love it and it doesn’t weigh down my hair. The problem? It’s expensive AF and I needed to find a cost-effective option. I was hesitant the first few times I used the KEH working serum, but I refused to give up because the cost is just too good. After about a week or two using it, I fell in love and I haven’t used my ride-or-die serum since.

Is it worth the money? Heck yes!

IT COSMETICS BRUSH BATH – IT Cosmetics is my jam and I have a handful of their brushes from Ulta, which I also love. I noticed that they were a little bit more difficult to clean than my other brushes so I figured I’d give their brush cleaner a try. I liked it, it got the job done, but I didn’t love it.

Is it worth the money? No, I’ll be sticking to my old brush cleaner.

ST. TROPEZ CLASSIC BRONZING MOUSSE – The St. Tropez self tanner shave been all the rave lately and I had been itching to try a self tanner so I thought it was the perfect product to try. At first, I loved it, but even a week after applying the product it was still rubbing off on my bedding and clothing.

Is it worth the money? NOPE.

URBAN DECAY MAKEUP SETTING SPRAY – I am not one to use setting sprays and this is the first one that I have ever tried or purchased. A lot of people love setting sprays, especially when they’re going to be on the go all day long, but I found that my makeup was wearing off even faster when using this setting spray. It could also be my oily skin, so if you have dry skin I would say you should totally try this product, it’s supposed to be very good.

Is it worth the money? If you have oily skin, no. If you have dry skin, yes.

URBAN DECAY VICE LIPSTICK – The Urban Decay Vice lipsticks come in over 100 shades in 5 different finishes and they’re all gorgeous. I purchased the “Alpha” in the matte finish and it’s the perfect shade for any time of the year and I can’t wait to pick up a few extra shades.

Is it worth the money? Heck yes.

Have you tried any of these products? What were your thoughts?

That Mario Badescu product sounds amazing! I love their products. As for the Urban Decay setting spray, I have oily skin and really like the De-Slick Setting Spray!! If you’re willing to try it again, you should try that one!

You do?! So many people rave about it and it didn’t work well for me. I think they have another version for oily skin so I’ll have to give it a try!

I love my UD all-nighters, I have normal/combo skin (my t-zone gets oily), but I’ve been using others besides that. That lipstick though is my jam, and all of the colors it comes in, I need them all! I haven’t found a brush cleaner I actually like/want to spend the money on.

I have been wanting to try out the Kristin Ess texturizing spray so definitely grabbing it this week! I can never find a texturizing spray that actually holds up and doesn’t immediately fall once I step out the door.
