Our Engagement Photos

engagement photo inspiration

We are officially six months out from our wedding! After getting engaged last March, we hit the ground running finding a venue and vendors for our September wedding. Once we checked those boxes off our to-do list, we honestly didn’t do a whole lot of wedding planning for the remainder of 2022. One thing we did do though? Take engagement photos! I’ve been sitting on these photos for a few months now and I’m excited to finally be sharing our engagement photos with all of you!

Our Engagement Photos

We hired the fabulous Arielle Doneson as our wedding photographer and she also did our engagement photos. It was so nice being able to meet her in person prior to our wedding and get a sense of how she works. If you can take engagement photos with your wedding photographer, I honestly cannot recommend it enough! We left our session geeking out over how obsessed we are with our photographer and cannot wait for her to be part of our special day.

Since we live in the city and so many of our memories together are in Boston, we knew we wanted to take our engagement photos in the city. If you’re not from the area, the Public Garden, Comm Ave, and areas of Beacon Hill and Back Bay are extremely popular for engagement (and wedding!) photos but we knew we wanted to stay away from brick as much as possible so our photos could have a light, airy feel to them. After cutting through the side of the State House over the years, I knew the side park area of the building would be the perfect location for our engagement session with Arielle. It’s light, bright, and neutral, and gives major European vibes with all of the marble. I’m still so happy we choose this location, the photos came out just how we hoped they would!
