We’ve got winter temps coming our way this week, snow in the forecast, and we’re just two weeks out from Christmas. Cozy season is officially upon us, friends. Other than cranking up the heat and cozying up in blankets 24/7, one of my favorite things about the winter is lighting candles the second the sun starts to set. They just makes things extra cozy, ya know?
A few months ago (after seeing ten million Instagram ads) Chris and I ordered a few of the Otherland candles and guys – I’m obsessed.
Prior to ordering them though, I was a little hesitant. They’re expensive and ordering candles online stresses me out. I mean, what if they smell bad or don’t smell when they’re burned? Thankfully, that wasn’t the case with them and we’ve ordered a few more since!
My Overall Thoughts
The Otherland candles are much more money than I would normally spend on candles ($36 per) but the quality, unique scents, and beautiful art make them worth it. We have five candles total – 2 from the core collection and 3 from the manor house weekend collection. Even with the inability to smell them before buying, I haven’t been disappointed in any of the scenes we’ve purchased so far!
What Sets Otherland Apart
All of the Otherland candles are made from a coconut and soy wax blend, have 100% cotton wicks, and are free from sulfates and phthalates. The glass jar is also designed to be reusable! Use it to hold your favorite skincare products, makeup brushes, or pens/pencils.
Each candle has a burn time of 55 hours!
The Scents I’m Loving
We’ve placed two orders with Otherland so far and have candles from both the core collection and the manor house weekend collection.
Rattan – One of my absolute favorites! This cozy smelling candle has sandalwood, Holden amber, and warm musk fragrances.
Chandelier – This one is Chris’ favorites! Champagne, saffron, and leather fragrances.
Cardamom Milk – Who else loves a cozy candle!? This one has cardamom, frothy milk, and praline woods fragrances.
Dappled Wood – Perfect for a cozy night in – dappled wood has fragrances of sandalwood, toasted walnut, and sweet hay. Perfect for the holidays without being a “holiday candle.”
Tapestry – If there’s any candle out of this bunch that I’ve been more hesitant if it’s this one, but it’s growing on me. The fragrances include burnt maple, smoky oud, and vetiver.
Otherland also just launched their gilded collection that is made up of 6 delicious scents, which includes: silk pajamas, fallen fir, black velvet, old fashioned, sacred dust, and moonstruck.

If you’re itching to get a candle or two from Otherland but are hesitant to place an order without smelling them first, Sephora and Nordstrom now sells them! Not all locations have them in stock, so make sure to call first!
