I was recently introduced to the woman-owned and Chicago-based CBD company, Equilibria, and let me tell you – I’m obsessed. I had been a little hesitant about CBD in general but after hearing so many great things about Equilibria, I just had to give it a try! I love that their motto is “for women, by women” and create products to enhance the busy lifestyles we lead. Whether you’re experiencing difficulty falling or staying asleep, anxiety, chronic pain, or anything (and everything) in between, CBD will be your new BFF.
What exactly is CBD?
CBD is a natural ingredient found in industrial hemp flowers (a cannabis sativa plant) that is 100% legal and does not contain the psychoactive that is in marijuana. You will not get high from CBD. Industrial cannabis sativa is grown to exhibit 0.3% THC or less.
CBD is clinically proven to impact physical and mental well-being, when taken properly and consistently.
Common uses for CBD include anti-inflammatory, pain management, mental health issues, anxiety, sleep, eczema, fertility, autoimmune, and more.
My Experience with CBD
When Equilibria reached out to see if I’d be interested in giving their soft gels and daily drops I was excited to see how they would help my anxiety and difficulty staying asleep.
Sidenote: I do take Ativan for my anxiety and consulted my doctor before adding CBD into my routine!
If you’ve been considering CBD, I highly recommend it. As someone who constantly wakes up throughout the night, tossing and turning, CBD has worked freakin’ wonders for me. I’ve been sleeping AMAZING and wake up feeling refresh, which I honestly didn’t think was possible!! My anxiety is SO much better and have even stopped taking my Ativan (!!!).
After speaking with a dosage specialist at Equilibria, I started by taking 10mg of the daily drops about 30 or so minutes before going to bed and one soft gel in the morning before heading off to work. After a week or so, I added in an additional 10mg of the daily drops alongside the soft gel before work to help tackle my anxiety.
When it comes to CBD, I highly recommend listening to your body. It might take a little bit to find a dosage that works best for you, but don’t give up!
