Hi friends! How are YOU?
Even though there’s been a lot of new content content on the blog lately and I’ve been sharing more of my day-to-day on Instagram, it’s been awhile since we’ve chatted. Sure, I shared our upcoming move with you a few weeks ago, but it’s been about five months since I’ve given you a good look into what’s going on.
So I figured, what better time than now?
Before we get into what’s been going on in my life, upcoming trips, and all that fun stuff, let’s talk about my new bff: this Who What Wear mumu. I am petite so it is a bit long on me, but I’m kinda liking it. Plus, I can still wear my favorite slides with it without the back of the dress dragging on the ground. Coming to the point that you can easily pair this mumu with sandals for day-to-day wear or with a cute pair of strappy heels for dinner with the girls!
OKAY now that we’ve gotten that out of the way…..
MOVE IN DAY IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER
Last month I shared that Chris and I are moving in together into my our dream neighborhood: Beacon Hill. We’re now 25 days out and we are in crunch mode. Maybe not in “crunch” mode per se but since we only have bedroom stuff between the two of us so we know alllll the things. We finally picked out a couch and got that ordered (HOLY I CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS BEAUTY!) have a majority of our “we need this the day we move in in order to function properly” items (most of which I’ve linked here). We still need to get rugs for the bedroom and living room, artwork, a bar car, microwave, etc. but we’re in pretty good shape!
I’m so excited!
WE’RE HEADED TO MARTHA’S VINEYARD IN A FEW WEEKS
My dad rented a house down in Martha’s Vineyard at the end of August and I cannot wait to visit with everyone, especially before the big move. I’ve also only been to the Vineyard a few times (just for day trips) so I’m excited to spend a few days exploring the island and not having to rush to get the ferry back. Have any MV recommendations? Let me know what they are in the comments!
SO 👏🏻 MUCH 👏🏻 TRAVEL 👏🏻
After graduating college, I promised myself that I would travel as much as possible, whether it was a weekend away or an international trip. I’ve done a pretty good job so far this year, I’ve gone to the Bahamas, Salt Lake City, and Portland (with a few other quick day or weekend trips sprinkled in!) but wanted to squeeze a few more trips in by the end of the year. So, last week, I packed up my bags and headed down to Washington D.C. for a few days with one of my college girlfriends! I was going to do a recap of our trip, but I didn’t get too many photos and we didn’t do anything crazy, just the same walk around, eat lunch, go to museums thing. We did stay at The Darcy, which was in a great location (located between Dupont and Logan Circle and only a few blocks up from the White House) and was really pretty but I honestly wasn’t that impressed with the customer service so I’m holding off on doing a hotel review.
Check out my 2019 travel goals, here.
For the remainder of the year, I have a trip to Martha’s Vineyard at the end of the month! I’m really excited about this one because I’ve only gone down for day trips so I’m excited to have a few days to explore the island. Chris and I also have a trip planned for October but I haven’t told him what it is yet, so my lips must be sealed for the time being! Hopefully we’ll be able to squeeze another trip or two into our schedules before the end of the year but if we don’t – I’m perfectly content with the amount of stuff we’ve been able to do this year.
WE’RE KIND OF TRAINING FOR A HALF MARATHON??
Chris and I decided we want to run a half marathon very badly even though I don’t run. At all. Very silly if you ask me. We were going to try to run one at the end of September but I’ve literally only been out two or three times and can only run around 3.5 miles (meanwhile Chris is at 6) so that’s definitely going to be pushed out later into the fall so I can get my ass into gear.
WHAT I’M SHOPPING
This in between summer and fall timeframe is one of my favorite times to be shopping. So many sales. So many great pieces. Sorry wallet! Here’s what I’m currently shopping.
- I love, love, love my AGOLDE shorts and am dying for this extra high-rise pair.
- This flirty sleeveless blouse is a staple and will go with everything.
- For dinner on the Vineyard? Yes please!
- I’m trying to figure out storage solutions for the apartment and love that this over-the-door hook also has a shelf.
- These wide leg cropped jeans are on sale for less than $100 and I need them.
- A cute sneaker that’s also ethically made? *adds to cart*
