The lug sole shoe has quickly taken the fashion industry by storm and for good reason. They’re chic, they make a statement, and dare I say they’re practical? (I’m saying it!) I’m no stranger to the lug sole, it was one of my most-worn styles as a child but hadn’t owned a lug sole shoe then. Last year, I decided to change that and give the trend a try as an adult and added these lug sole boots to my winter shoe rotation. Once the warm weather rolled around, I found myself missing the look and style of my lug sole boots so I knew I wanted to incorporate another mild weather approved. Enter: the lug sole loafer. As a new-to-me style of shoe, I’ve been having so much fun styling them, especially as we transition into spring.
The lug sole style isn’t for everyone; you either love it or hate it. It’s a shoe style that has a more edgy look but I love the juxtaposition they add to a more feminine outfit. Not to mention, they give us petite gals a little lift and lengthen the legs compared to your typical flat/loafer. If you’re thinking about trying this style of shoe or aren’t sure how to style the ones you have, here are some easy tips for styling yours.
How to Style Lug Sole Loafers
There are so many different styles of lug sole loafers to pick from, but these ones from Coach are my personal favorite. The design is beautiful and the sole isn’t too thick, which I love. I also like that they’re all black; this makes styling them even easier! Depending on your personal style, you can truly pair your lug sole loafers with anything from jeans and a t-shirt to trousers for the office, and even a dress.
