I can’t believe Christmas is already over and in just a few short days, it’ll be 2020. It’s crazy how time flies! It’s been so nice having the last few days off and I’m psyched that I don’t have to go back to work until January 2, but the laziness is real. I’ve gone days without showering, I am constantly sleeping, and I’m eating like shit. I need to get back into a routine like, yesterday, so I don’t feel like such a sloth! Maybe today is the day…..

Anyways.

With New Year’s Eve just four days away, now is the time to get planning if you haven’t already figured out what you’re doing or what you’re planning. And if you’re someone who prefers a low-key NYE, you’ve come to the right place.

Sequins, champagne, and 3 AM bedtimes aren’t for everyone and that’s quite alright. We’re planning on a quiet night this year, and if you are too but don’t know what to do, I’ve got ya covered!

Binge Watch a New Show on Netflix

The time between Christmas and New Year’s is the best time to catch up on all of your favorite shows and binge-watch the latest Netflix release. An even better time to binge-watch Netflix? New Year’s Eve! With a majority of people staying out late with friends drinking and enjoying the festive holiday, it’s easier than ever to do some bingeing with zero interruption.

Shows To Watch: You, Don’t F**K with Cats, Grey’s Anatomy, The Crown, Workin’ Moms, Jane the Virgin

Grab Dinner at Your Favorite Restaurant

Okay, the goal here is to stay in but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a nice early dinner before the crowds. Make reservations between 5 and 6 PM, have a delicious meal, and make a swoon-worthy dessert when you get home. This way, you can get out of the house for a few hours and then have a quiet night spent on the couch afterward.

Have Friends Over

What better way to enjoy a quiet NYE than with friends? Grab a couple bottles of wine, whip up a few appetizers, main dish, and your go-to dessert and enjoy a night at home surrounded by your closest friends! Pull out puzzles and board games and if you’re feeling adventurous – karaoke. You’ll spend less money, have an earlier night than if you were to go out, and you won’t be scrolling through Instagram on the couch by yourself.

If you’re looking for themes for your night in, I highly recommend having a game night, gingerbread house competition, or make individual cheeseboards and vote on the best presentation!

Start Chipping Away at Your TBR List

Where are all my book worms at?! 🙋🏼‍♀️

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is all of the extra time you have to relax and chip away at your book pile. Instead of going out or watching countless hours of television, start chipping away at your 2020 reading list!

Books I’m Loving: Get a Life, Chloe Brown, Bringing Down the Duke, Wild Game, and Normal People.

Girls Night In

Forget the boys and have a GNI! Stock up on wine, your favorite snacks, and everything you would need for a spa night.

Face masks, nail polish, moisturizers, hair masks.

Spend the night watching the NYE special, gossiping, giving yourself the TLC you deserve after a hectic holiday season.

How are you spending NYE this year?

I love the idea of a girls night in. I hate going out on NYE because it’s so crowded.

I love this list! My fiancé and I typically stay in watching one of our favorite TV shows with some treats and alcohol. It’s a fun time!

I think having friends come over for the night, dressing up a bit, and watching the ball drop on TV would be my ideal situation! Happy 2020!

Haha I hear you lol. I give up my semi sugar ban between Halloween and New Years. I have been a lot more um laid back myself this past week. But we all need a rest. I don’t go out to public places on NYE. I generally stay or go to a friends. Love these ideas your tree is so cute!!

Love these suggestions. I’ve always been a New Year’s staying in kind-of-girl. Also, your tree is the cutest one I’ve ever seen.
