Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station Review

There’s nothing better than being able to explore a new-to-you city. From the people to the sights, and all of the food, taking in all of the new and doing things you don’t typically get to on a day-to-day basis light my soul. One of the places that has been on my travel bucket list for quite some time now is Denver and I finally was able to visit! With so many incredible areas of the city to explore, restaurants to eat at, and hotels to stay at, planning out my itinerary was exciting (albeit, a bit overwhelming!) but I knew staying in Union Station made the most sense.

Located in the heart of Denver and just steps from Coors Field, you’ll find the Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station. Whether you’re planning your first trip to this incredible city, or are returning for a yearly trip, Union Station is one of the best places to visit in the city. And thanks to its convenient location, there’s no better place to stay than the Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station.

The Hotel

When you first enter Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station, guests are greeted by massive floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby, along with the nicest staff. Whether you need recommendations, extra towels, or a bottle of water to bring up to your room, they go above and beyond to ensure your stay is nothing short of amazing.

To the right of the lobby, there’s a large sitting area, fireplace, and long table to play games with friends or get some work done. To the left of the lobby, there is the Garden Lane Canteen (where breakfast is served!), the shop filled with all of the snacks and beverages you could be craving, and the elevators up to the guest rooms.

The second and third floors of the hotel house a majority of the hotel amenities, including the patio and fire pits, as well as conference and meeting space on the second floor. On the third floor, you’ll find the indoor pool (stunning) and a large fitness center, which are such a treat, especially when it’s cold out!

Woodie Fisher

The on-site restaurant, Woodie Fisher, is such a good hangout! Serving brunch and dinner, with a full bar, you don’t have to leave the HGI Denver Union Station property to grab a delicious bite to eat. Woodie Fisher is conveniently attached to the hotel so if it’s cold, rainy, or snowy, you don’t have to worry about going outside. The cozy neighborhood eatery is located inside Denver’s first fire station and is one of the oldest remaining structures in the city.

During my stay, I stopped into Woodie Fisher for brunch and it was oh my god good. We started with the house-made burrata toast, the blistered shishito peppers, and the truffled breakfast potatoes, which were all delicious. I also indulged in the Woodie Fisher burger and the crab benedicts.

Whether you’re staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station or are just in the area, make sure you stop in for a bite at Woodie Fisher; you won’t be disappointed!

The Rooms

The Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station might be part of the Hilton family, but it has major boutique hotel vibes. From the interior design and furniture to the lux products in the bathroom. The property has 233 guest rooms and nine suites, complete with mini-fridges, microwaves, a sitting area, and smart TVs. Just like the lobby, the guest rooms also have a clean, modern minimalist feel to them and include Neutrogena and Crabtree & Evelyn (a new favorite brand!) products.

During my stay, I stayed in a king room, which was about 320 square feet. It featured a flexible work space, Keurig coffee maker, 55-inch TV, sitting area, and an upholstered bench which I took advantage of to get some reading in!

The bed was SO comfortable and I loved the sconces on the sides of the bed. They offered the perfect amount of light for winding down at the end of the day and the black-out curtains helped me get my best night’s sleep.

The Location

The Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station is located in the heart of Union Station and is less than a five-minute walk to Coors Field. The hotel is about a 30-minute drive from Denver International Airport and the Union Station area is filled with shops, restaurants, and museums to fill your days with. If you do plan on doing any activities outside of the Union Station area, I would recommend renting a car or looking into the train schedule!
