Working in a laid back office with a casual dress code is both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, you can wear jeans to work. On the other hand, it’s so easy to get into the never-ending cycle of wearing jeans and a t-shirt to work.
I know the struggle all too well.
Thankfully, with some basics and a few great layering pieces, it’s easy to pull together a casual look that’s elevated for the office and will get you out if that’s never-ending cycle.

This collarless cardigan/blazer from J. Crew is also one of my most worn pieces, for work and play. It’s warm, it’s polished, and it comes in several colors so it’s easy to incorporate into your current wardrobe. By layering it over my white button-up, I instantly have an office-approved look, even with a casual dress code. And when I get warm? I simply take it off and have a great top underneath!
