At-Home Date Night Ideas

At-Home Date Night Ideas

After a busy week of work, socializing, household tasks, and everything else you had to tackle, there’s nothing more satisfying than relaxing at home. And why not combine date night with it? Spending one-on-one time with the person you love is one of the best ways to decompress after a long week and it’s something Chris and I have always made a priority in our relationship. Even though it’s always fun to get dressed up and try a new restaurant and have a few cocktails, this isn’t the only way to spend time with your significant other. There are so many fun things you can do at home and free activities to take advantage of in your community, today I’m sharing some of our fate at-home date night ideas. These are the activities we always gravitate to when we just want to stay in or are trying to save a few dollars (weddings are expensive!!). The best part? We don’t have to leave the dog at home!

At-Home Date Night Ideas

Ready to plan the best at-home date night? Here are seven ideas to enjoy with your partner!

Have a Game Night

There’s nothing better than a little friendly competition so grab your favorite games and get your game face on! Whether it’s card or a board game, you can set the rules. Whether it’s bragging rights, a special dessert, or something else, this fun at-home date night activity could be a new tradition in your home.

Games You’ll Love:

Cook a New Recipe Together

We all fall into a routine when it comes to cooking dinner, especially during the week. Instead of cooking the same recipes over and over again, try a new-to-you recipe instead! Whether you turn to Pinterest or Instagram, attempt one of the recipes you have saved together. Whether it’s successful or not, the activity of cooking together is always so much fun. Bonus points if it’s over your favorite beverage!

Solve a Murder Mystery

I recently stumbled upon these unsolved case files on Amazon and ordered one for Chris and I to do on date night and it was so fun! There are a bunch of different options and if you take your time and really go through all of the evidence and clues, they can take a few hours.

Have an Indoor Picnic & Movie Night

Remember having indoor picnics as a child and how fun they are?! If you’re looking for a fun date night and want to tap into those memories, have an indoor picnic! Whether you cook at home or get takeout, set up your meal on the floor with some cozy blankets, pillows, and candles. Pick an old favorite movie to watch or find something new and create new memories.

Tasting Party for Two

When was the last time you went into the liquor store and saw a bottle or two of wine you wanted to try? Or maybe it was a pizza shop that had multiple types of french fries you want to try. Maybe you’ve bookmarked a few different cookie recipes you want to try. Whatever it is, turn it into a tasting party for two! Head to the store with your partner and pick 2-3 items each that you’ve been dying to try, bring them home, and start trying them. Bonus points if you vote on your favorite item and compare votes/ratings at the end!

At-Home Spa Night

This is an activity that Chris and I partake in at least once a month. We’ll plan an entire night around pampering ourselves with at-home manicures and pedicures, face masks, and an extra-long skincare routine. Not only is this extra relaxing, but your skin will thank you.

Plan Your Next Trip

Have a trip you’ve been dying to take with your partner? Get your laptop out, open a bottle of wine, and start researching your trip. Start with where you’ll be traveling to and when the best time to visit is before you book flights. From there you’ll be able to start planning your itinerary with must-visit restaurants and activities you’ll want to do while you’re there. Before long, you’ll have a fun trip to look forward to taking together!
