I love a good skincare product as much as the next person, especially if it’s made from clean ingredients! When it comes to body care, I don’t usually splurge on the products I purchase and usually opt for ones that I can pick up from the grocery store or Target. I’ve been using Dr. Bronner’s soap for basically ever (clean ingredients, available at Target, and affordable!) but after seeing everyone RAVING about Nécessaire, I was itching to try it. The only thing holding me back? The price tag.
After pulling the trigger and using several of their products for a few months now, I wanted to dive into each product I’ve tried to answer the “Is it really worth it?” question!
Ranging from $20 to $45, Nécessaire currently has seven products, out of which I’ve tried five – the body wash, body exfoliator, body lotion, hand cream, and deodorant. Some I’ve loved, some are just okay, and spoiler: there’s one I wouldn’t purchase again.
The Body Wash
I was really hoping that I wouldn’t like this body wash, mostly because of it’s $25 price tag, but it’s completely transformed my skin and the ecalyptus scent is HEAVENLY. A little goes a long way and it gets so sudsy as you massage it into your skin. My skin has never been so soft or hydrated!
The Body Exfoliator
This was the first Nécessaire product I tried and absolutely love it! Made from a trio of glycolic, lactic, and salicylic acids, it has helped reduce the appearance of small bumps on the back of my arms, keeps my skin soft, and eliminates any dry patches.
I use this exfoliator once a week, making the $30 price tag well worth it! I’ll definitely be purchasing it again when I run out.
The Body Lotion
I’m definitely on the fence about this one. It is expensive for an every day body lotion, but it’s silky, it absorbs quickly, and leaves my skin feeling soft.
I have to say, I do love my Gold Bond Healing lotion, but the Nécessaire one is a great option if you’re looking for something cleaner.
The Hand Cream
With all of the hand washing and hand sanitizing I’ve been doing lately, I have been in desperate need of a good hand cream and this one is AMAZING. It’s moisturizing without being too heavy and isn’t greasy AT ALL, and it absorbs very quickly so you don’t have to worry about that dreaded sticky feeling.
I really wanted to love this deodorant, especially after all the hype it’s gotten, but it just is not for me. The eucalyptus scent is heavenly but after a few hours of wear, the scent goes away and I felt like I was extra sweaty (and sour smelling). Even a quick walk with the dog left me with wet marks under my arms! I gave myself extra time to adjust, but it didn’t get any better.
This is the one product I would NOT buy again!
