Spring is here and we’re starting to see more consistent weather here in Boston which only means one thing: patio season. After being cooped up in the house all winter, there’s nothing I look forward to more than branching on a patio and our new neighborhood has so many more brunch and patio options than our old place, making my favorite weekend activity even better. I mean, who can say no to a delicious brunch that’s within walking distance!? Not me.
Since our weekend brunches usually turn into bar hopping, walking around the city, and visiting our favorite small businesses, comfort is key. Enter stretchy waistbands, comfy sneakers, flowy dresses, and dark colors (because let’s face it: I’m going to spill something on myself at some point or another).
I’ve always been a denim girl, whether it was jeans or denim shorts, and steered clear of dresses and skirts at all costs. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized how amazing they are and over the last year or two, my short-wearing days have dwindled down significantly especially on days that we go out to brunch! Which brings me to this skirt.
I absolutely love the look of a silk slip skirt styled casually with a comfy tee, but I was struggling to find one that looked good on my curvy body shape. Every time I tried one on, it hit in alllll the wrong places, fit weird around the waist, or was too short/too long for my petite frame. I thought I would never find one that would look good on me and came to peace with it, but then I came across this silk slip skirt from J. Crew and figured why the hell not. And to my surprise, it fit perfectly.
More skirts I have my eye on:
