Hellooooo friends! I feel like this post has been a long time coming, especially when you take into consideration how often I complain about jeans being to long and my legs looking short AF. I’m here to let you know that after what seems like forever, I have finally figured out how to make my legs appear longer than they actually are. How does this benefit you? I’m going to share my secrets with you, duh!

How to Make Your Legs Look Longer:

1. High-rise jeans are your BFF

Everyone needs a great pair of high-waisted dark jeans in their wardrobe. They go with everything and they highlight your best curves in a flattering way! They also don’t have to be skin tight — a pair that are fitted through the hips and tapper down the leg are also super flattering. Ready to go outside of your comfort zone? Try a high-waisted straight jean!

Some of my favorite high-waisted jeans: American Eagle High-Waisted Jegging (also come in short, x-short, and tall sizes!), Madewell 10″ High-Rise (these makes your bum look so good!), and the AG Farrah High-Waisted Jean (stretchy, soft, and you’ll never want to take them off!)

2. Black on black on black

There’s just something about wearing an all black outfit (or any sort of monochromatic look!) that will make your legs look long AF. The way the eye follows the body, having any sort of similarity in color between your pant and shoe, will confuse the brain and it will think your legs are never ending. You can thank me later.

3. Embrace OTK Boots

When it comes down to it, OTK boots do just about the same thing as high-waisted jeans do to you. They make your legs look Amazonian long. Make sure the boots you pick out aren’t bulky, are close to the leg, and aren’t falling down with every step you take. If you do have a less bulky pair, you can even pair them with a cute dress for cold weather activities!

4. Nude heels will make your legs look never ending

Wearing a nude shoe always gives you that “Barbie feet” look — an in layman’s terms (because I just found out that was a thing, too) it just means your legs are going to look amazing the second you put them on. I highly suggest finding a pair of nude shoes that are similar to your skin tone to help create a seamless line between the two.

If you’ve been having issues where your booties make your legs cut off, give this trick a try!

5. When it doubt, tuck it in

I’m a HUGE fan of the tuck and once you get on the front tuck train, you’ll understand why.

So typically you’re trying to hide a part of your body you don’t want seen by wearing a tunic style top (or one that’s at least looser) but by doing a quick and easy front tuck, you will be extenuating your curves and will reduce the fabric hanging over your legs, thus making them look longer! I’ve also been told I look very thin on the day that I do the front tuck so it’s a win-win. Just give it a try.

If you are a little self conscious with the front tuck, I suggest still doing it by layering with a chunky or light weight cardigan.

What are you favorite tricks to getting your legs appear longer?

All great tips and ones that I rely on heavily for my own short stature. Once I found high-waisted jeans I’ve never looked back!
