If you’ve been following my blog or Instagram for a while, you know that dresses are not my thing. But with that being said, I still think it’s important to have at least two dresses (one casual, one a little dressier) in your closet in case something comes up last minute.
Over the last couple of months, I’ve had a lot of dress-wearing events come up, which I’ve used as an opportunity to build my dress wardrobe up, and I just say – I’m starting to move to the other side of the dress hatred line. The other plus side to purchasing all these dresses is that I now have some killllller dresses to share on the blog.
If you don’t own a solid LBD yet, you need one ASAP. This one is super chic and is so affordable!
5 Timeless Dresses Every Woman Should Own
The Little Black Dress (LBD)
A must-have for any closet. LBD’s are hands down my favorite type of dress because you can seriously wear them to anything. Funerals? Check! Date night? Check! Work events? Check! Plus, black dresses look PHENOMENAL on everyone. Find a style you like, and snatch it up!
The T-Shirt Dress
Comfy and cute, the t-shirt dress is an errand running staple. Pair it with a cute pair of wedges and layer it with a denim jacket and you’ve got the perfect summer night out outfit!
The Fit & Flare Dress
Fitted at the top, lose on the bottom. Fit and flare dresses are my favorite for holidays and events where there will be dancing involved (even though I’m the worst dancer). They’re also great when you’ll be sitting and eating for long periods of time!
The Wrap Dress
Wrap dresses are officially my new favorite. They come in all different lengths and I love the feminine detail of the wrap. I’ve been reaching for mine for weddings, graduation parties, and the like as of late. They’re just so easy!
The Maxi Dress
Not the best option for us short gals, but we can all agree that maxi dresses are comfy AF. And the ones that are jersey material? Don’t even get me started. Maxi dresses are also a great option for events thanks to the ease of dressing them up!
