Hellllooooo 2020 👋🏻
I can’t believe 2019 has come to an end and that we’re already 3 (!!!) days into the new year! So crazy! 2019 was an average year for me – I hit a majority of the goals I set for myself last year, Chris and I moved in together, there were some ups, there were some downs. Overall, it was a good year but I’m hoping 2020 will be a little bit more exciting!
While I am not one for making resolutions per se, I do love setting goals for myself. Long-term, short-term, small goals, large goals. And I am grabbing 2020 by the balls and setting alllllll the goals.
Pay Off My Credit Cards
My BIG goal of 2020 is to pay off all of my credit cards so I can focus on saving more money. I was doing pretty good but thanks to the holidays, I’m two steps behind and need to get. it. together.
Right now, I’m planning on tackling my credit card payments with the snowball method to make the process feel a little less daunting and you bet your bottom dollar I’ll be reporting back with exact numbers to *hopefully* help you pay yours off, too!
Read 24 Books
Last year, I sent a goal of reading one book per month to read a total of 12 books over the year. I ended up reading a total of 19 books so this year, I’m setting a goal of 24 books (2 books per month!) to keep things reasonable and not be disappointed if life gets in the way and I don’t do as much reading as I hoped.
Travel to 6 New Places
In addition to my 2019 goals, I also set 2019 travel goals and visited three out of the five locations (New York, D.C. & Salt Lake City) I wanted to visit, plus a few more. This year, I’m upping that number to six – five trips within the United States (Catskills, Charleston, Nantucket, Charlotte, and Denver) and one internationally!
I’ve never been out of the United States (unless you count the Bahamas and Canada) and really want to make international travel a priority this year.
Fingers crossed that a trip to London in 2020 happens 🤞🏻
Grow My Email List
This past fall, I launched a newsletter, which was super exciting! It had been on my to-do list for so long and it felt so good to finally cross it off. Having a place to share exclusive content, create more engagement around Hello, Her, and connect with others in a place that’s all mine has been amazing and I hope to continue growing my email list throughout the year to reach even more of you!
Get in Shape
Over the last year or so, I’ve gained a decent amount of weight and overall, I’m feeling pretty blah. With vacations coming up, friends getting married, and my overall confidence not where I want it to be, I really want to make eating healthier and getting more exercise a priority this year.
I’m actually teaming up with Forme Barre over the next few months and will be sharing more fitness content, some before and afters, and my fitness goals!
Start a Book Club
I actually mentioned this over on Instagram a few weeks ago, but something I’ve been itching to do and hope to put into action in 2020 is to start a book club!
I’ve always been a big reader and I’ve recently been sharing book content on Instagram and the blog over the last few months and I’m excited for it to continue! Reading is such a great way to meet new people, gain new insight on all different subjects, and not to mention, pull yourself away from technology for a bit.
I’m not sure what this book club will look like exactly but it’ll be a fun little project for me to tackle going into the new year!
